Despite the fact that our driver overslept, we arrived at the airport with plenty of time to spare. Getting our boarding passes and clearing security at Philly International was not bad at all and actually quite quick. I figure because we were traveling on Thanksgiving morning. Our Air Jamaica flight took off on time and before we knew it we were in Mo Bay (roughly at 10:50 AM). Clearing Jamaican customs and immigration was quick and easy. The biggest difference was our approach to immigraiton. Our plane landed at the newest end of the airport and we even exited on a jetway. But we walked for what seemed like forever before we reached immigration and we entered from the opposite side that we were used to entering. Nonetheless, we got through quickly and eagerly headed out the doors to find our ride. Our property overseerer greeted us at the exit of the airport and we headed off to Negril. We did stop along the way at the Great River (photo) for a shared Q of rum and some fantastic conch soup that included freshly caught cray fish from the Great River. What a nice stop on the way to Negril. There is a rest room there as well (ladies be sure there is toilet paper in before you get committed). We arrived at Samsara around 1:30 PM which was too early for our room to be "ready" so we headed to the bar with Garnett and Delroy to have a celebratory drink or two or three before our room was ready. |
