Negril has many secrets and perhaps one of the best kept and most exclusive is Rockhouse Hotel on the West End.

With a stunning combination of secluded thatched cottage rooms and a beautiful open air restaurant over looking the cove below, Rock House is a must for those in search of a touch of class, peace and a cosmopolitan come Caribbean atmosphere.

As for the Red Stripe Snapper - we will be back for the recipe! Keep an eye out for a forthcoming recipe from the Canadian trained chef from Rock House. So far... he's in a class of his own!

 While there are many wonderful places to share a meal with your lover in Negril, I thought it would be nice if folks shared their thoughts on their personal favorite places and why. For instance, one of my favorites is the Blue Horizon West, located in the cliffs. Jeanne is a master cook, the setting is incredible with a view of the sea and Negril's famous sunsets. The music is in the background, allowing for soft conversation or just moments of silence and treasuring each other. The food is wonderful and portions are for the hearty appetite. Enjoy a blended fruit drink from the bar while you await your meal and enjoy the view and sea breezes. During the day, you may want to hide from the sun and that's no problem, there is a section of the restaurant and bar that are under cover. Hmmmm, I wish I was there right now (grins).

I have to agree on Blue Horizon West. My wife and I are always in Jamaica on her birthday, and Jeane always knocks herself out to make the birthday dinner special. The appetizer shown on the cuisine section of the Blue Horizon web site was served at that dinner. Yummmm.
